How frequently should I book private swim lessons for my children?
Most students will progress at a faster rate with a higher number of swim lessons per week. This would ideally place intensity at two to three swim lessons a week.
One swim lesson a week is by no means detrimental to a student’s progress, merely resulting in a slower rate of improvement.
For optimal conditions, a routine should be established. Keeping the swim lesson time and day consistent will help them remember and effectively perform the swim skills they have learned from previous swim lessons.
How far in advance should I book my Nemo private swim lessons?
Book your swim lessons as soon as possible as times tend to fill up quickly once our swim instructors post their availability.
If you don’t see availability in your area it could be that all time slots are already filled up, or it might still be too early in the season. Sometimes our instructors work another job and they don’t have their shift schedule making it hard to post ahead of time.
But not to worry! The best thing to do is sign up for our Free Matching Service. Furthermore, we will reach out the instructors in the area to bring attention to your request, and to ensure that you can book your swim lessons as soon as possible.
Our peak season for swim lessons runs from June through August. While swim lessons are available year-round, availability may be limited in some areas.
Can I split the cost of the lesson among multiple students or families?
Absolutely! We offer the flexibility to have up to four students in one session. To ensure that each student gets the most out of their lesson, we recommend that each student be of the same skill level. Otherwise, you can split the session into consecutive 30-minute lessons so that each student has their own lesson. The maximum number of students per package is four.
What is Nemo’s cancellation policy?
We understand things happen, ans schedules change. We offer a very flexible cancellation policy (you can login and cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before a scheduled appointment). The canceled lesson will be available as a credit to use any time in the coming year.
How do the swim packages work?
We currently offer swim lessons in packages of 5, 10, or 15 lessons. The more lessons you buy, the more you save!
When you first purchase your package, you can choose to schedule just one lesson or book your entire package in one go. When you’re ready to book the rest, simply log into your account before checking out, and your credits will automatically be applied to your order total.

Absolutely, many moms and dad join the lessons. Sometimes parents can be at a different skill level, but still receive a valuable lesson and pointers.
How many private swim lessons should I book for my children?
Approximately 10-12 private swim lessons is the recommended number of private swim lessons to book for a child.
Visible improvements are achieved through consistency, progressive learning, and building on skills that had been learned in previous swim lessons.
With fewer than 8 swim lessons, you run the risk of cutting the learning progression short, thereby causing regression of skills learned in the long run.

When can my child start swimming lessons?
Children can begin learning to swim as early as 6 months old. From 6 to 18 months, they can build confidence and familiarity with the water, guided by a parent. By 18 months, many children are ready to start working more independently in the water with an instructor. Progress will vary based on each child’s age and physical development.
What if I have kids of different ages?
It ultimately depends on your children’s age and skill level. Kids of varying ages might share the same swim level, allowing them to take lessons together. However, younger swimmers often tire more quickly than older siblings, so pairing children of similar ages is usually ideal.
Consulting with your swim instructor will help determine the best arrangement for your children to receive the most effective lessons. A single instructor can teach up to three students in a 30-minute session or six students per hour.
How long will it take my child to learn how to swim?
Every student, regardless of age, progresses at their own pace. To better understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and the time needed to achieve specific goals, it’s best to consult with your Nemo swim instructor after the first few lessons. By assessing your child’s initial skills, the instructor can provide a professional evaluation and address any questions you may have.
While some swim schools promise a “learn to swim” guarantee within a fixed number of lessons, Nemo Swim School recognizes that each student’s progress is a unique journey that cannot be confined to a set timeframe. Our lessons are tailored to the individual, ensuring a personalized approach that truly supports each student’s success!
What happens if there’s inclement weather during a lesson?
